Email Subject: End of our rope?

Dear Friends,

Have you ever felt that you have come to a point either physically or emotionally that you just can't keep going? It could be because of a difficult situation that we have encountered or a relationship that just isn't getting better in fact it might be getting worse before our eyes and we are at the end of our rope.  We are not sure how to handle this or even respond properly to it.  I don't know about you but this seems to be happening more and more to those we are around and even sometimes to the one I look at in the mirror quite regularly.
As a Christ follower when we face, *"The end of our rope,"* times what are we to do?  Sadly to say, some give up, others turn to things that don't bring fulfillment or lasting stability like alcohol, drugs, or a relationship outside of marriage.  Still others try to hide from difficulties by getting lost in their jobs or even hobbies.  These, sure won't  help for the long haul and often bring more and more pain later for our life.
I have found that the truth of God's Word has some great insight for us as we face *"The end of our rope,"* situations.  Read with me 1 Cor. 2:12 & 13, "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words."
Friends, when we face those seemingly impossible situations, whatever they might be, we can grasp this truth that the third member of the Trinity lives right within us as Christ followers.  He is given to us to guide us into all truth, to direct our path, to comfort, to encourage, to strengthen and to help in time of need.  I don't know about you, but the beauty of the indwelling Spirit is huge for my life.  Eph. 1:3, says that we have been given everything pertaining to life and godliness!  WOW, so when facing* "end of the rope" *situations a true understanding of our resources that are freely given by grace through faith in Christ is essential.  My responsibility then is to *"DO THE NEXT THING RIGHT BEFORE THE LIVING GOD." * Walk in personal yieldedness to His Word, speaking and living in a manner worthy of my calling as a Christ follower.  When I do this His way for His glory the path before me becomes more clear, the direction to head is made more wide and the strength to go forward is totally sufficient and by the way, *the rope HE provides us will never end!*

Have a great day my friend and celebrate this great truth with me by living in a manner worthy of our calling.

Your friend,

Pastor Doug
