Sunday Sermons (Page 19)

God is holy, and His people are to be holy, and this means that we must be willing to purge the evil from within the covenant community.

Comfort in Affliction

November 1, 2020
The Word of God is the only sufficient source of life-giving hope and comfort in every kind of affliction.
Worshipping the LORD alone will mean worshipping Him according to His prescriptions, not according to our preferences.
Stop, consider, and understand who the LORD is and how He cares for His people; and you will love and obey Him.
The requirements of God and the reasons for obedience do not change, but the gospel has changed how we relate to Moses’ teaching now.
Circumstances create opportunities for great temptations, but God is our cause for faith, and He has always provided a way of grace.
The LORD is testing the hearts of men, and He will rightly punish all who turn away from Him but will give grace to all who are His.
From mission through execution to consummation, God’s people are brought home by grace alone through faith alone.
The great command of all Scripture is to love the LORD alone; and this will entail listening to Him alone, fearing Him alone, and teaching His Word alone.
