STAFF – Children’s Ministry Director

Family and Work Life: Sara Waddel has been on-staff since 2005.  She met husband Jerry at a church youth group in Lincoln. Following college, they married in 1995 and were blessed with two (now adult) daughters.

When Sara was a child, she wanted to be a race car driver (dream came true as she now shuttles her girls from one activity to another) and a teacher (dream came true as she teaches our “littles” many things).

As the children’s ministry director, she leads the children’s ministry team and directly oversees nursery, Sunday school, children’s church, Truth Expedition, Little Beginnings Preschool, VBS, Kids’ Christmas musical, Godz Girlz, and Easter Extravaganza.

On describing Cornerstone:  Growing in Grace. Sara appreciates that so many people are willing to service in Children’s Ministry to declare and display the gospel to our children.

Her testimony:  Although Sara believed in Christ at a young age, she had doubts about her salvation. In junior high, she realized that because of her own sin, she was separated from God. She trusted Jesus as her Savior to forgive her and save her from her sin. Through high school, college, and now through her adult years, she continues to trust God to help her grow in faith, grace, and knowledge of Her Savior.

Bible “hero”: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego – because “our God whom we serve is able to deliver, but even if He does not…” I will praise Him!

Hobbies: visiting their adult daughters; going for walks, singing, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends.
