LAY ELDER – Oversees missions
Family and Work Life: Married since 2010, Jeremy and Emily Karg – who met at a college student gathering at Cornerstone – now have five young children. Since 2014, Jeremy has worked for the Buckle as a programmer/analyst.
On describing Cornerstone: Gospel-centered and caring. Jeremy appreciates the body’s commitment to the truth and its commitment to drive that truth into all of life, resulting in the body’s love for one another.
His testimony: As a result of his parents’ divorce while Jeremy was young, he was heavily influenced by an uncle and grandfather, both who loved Jesus very much. Watching them display the gospel was a testimony to him. God brought him to life and granted him faith in His gospel. He opened Jeremy’s eyes to see his sin and his need of Christ. Over time he has grown in his understanding of his sin and who Christ is. Although Jeremy doesn’t think he has “scratched the surface” of knowing these things, he looks forward to spending eternity with God and knowing Him in greater ways.
Influential books recently read: Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund, The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self by Carl Trueman, and God the Son Incarnate by Stephen Wellum
Bible “hero”: Ruth – because of the loyal love which she demonstrated to Naomi, her mother-in-law.
Hobbies: Spending time with the family; growing interest in the art of storytelling.
